Description: Originally founded by Henry Clausen Sr. in 1855 the brewery was renamed H. Clausen & Son in 1866 when Henry Clausen Jr. became involved in the family business. In 1888 the company was purchased by an English Corporation known as “New York Breweries Company” and was consolidated with the Flanagan, James, Nay & Co. Brewery that had been in existence since 1881. H. Clausen & Son worked with Phoenix Bottling Company to bottle their beer.

This particular bottle still has the H. Clausen & Son label attached. It reads “Genuine German Beer Style” and has the brewery & bottling company iinformation printed.
